Dawson continues to get bigger and cuter every day. Here are some memories from 5 1/2 months to 6 1/2 months.
Dawson is wearing less onesies in exchange for pants, shorts, and shirts. The big boy clothes we have are a tad big, but we think he looks pretty cute in them.
Dawson's first pair of jeans!
I absolutely love this little hoodie on him!
Dawson has also recently started to be a pretty good sleeper. We put him down between 9:00-10:00pm and he usually doesn't wake up until 5:00am or later. Then he gets a bottle and goes right back to sleep for another couple of hours. By 7:30 though, D man is up and ready to go for the day. Dawson has also treated us to a straight 9 or 10 hours of sleep too! We're hopeful this will become his new normal soon. We are also trying to get him to sleep without being swaddled. We've had limited success.
Dawson is a boy of extremes. He plays hard and sleeps hard. If he's hungry, he's hungry now! He has very few "in between" emotions.
We have been working on introducing solid foods as well. So far we have tried bananas, apples, and sweet potatoes.
He doesn't really care for them.
He seemed to like the apples the best, but what he's really interested in is grown-up food. I decided to let him try some of my mashed potatoes from KFC and he couldn't get enough of them. He would actually open his mouth for more. He has also really enjoyed sucking on a mozzarella stick and Twix bar. One time he almost got some Dr.Pepper up through my straw too! Oh well, we'll keep working on the healthy food.
With the warmer weather we have been venturing out more. This is Dawson's first ride in his stroller without the carrier. He seems to enjoy being in the stroller.
Dawson got a sun hat!
Cutest picture ever!
This weekend Dawson had his first outdoor water experience. Our town just built a splash pad and it is so much fun! We live one minute away and I can picture many fun summers here with our kids. Dawson was a little timid at first, but hen he started having fun. Of course, he isn't mobile but he had fun watching all the kids and getting splashed. Dawson is also a total chick magnet. A baby girl kept crawling to him and kissing him. Dawson just stretched out his arms for her. It was so cute!
The splash pad is perfect for little children. It has a "stream" with just the right amount of water. All along the stream there are water features that shoot out water. At one end the stream is calm (that's where we hung out) and at the other end there are lots of holes in the ground that shoot out water. There is also a park right next to it, making it the perfect place to run around and dry off. The best part- it's free and probably just as much fun as Seven Peaks to the 7 and under crowd.
Today is my first Mother's Day! My best boys got me a spa package: mani, pedi, and a 75 minute Sweedish massage. So fun! Here are some mommy and me pictures to celebrate.
I love our little family!
