Dawson Plays Soccer

We signed up Dawson to play soccer at the Provo Rec Center for the 2016 Spring season.  This is a parent and child class where one parent has to play with the child at each practice.

During each practice the kids would practice really basic skills of soccer.  Dawson had fun about half of the time.  Sometimes he would do really well and listen and have fun.  Other times he didn't want to do anything and we could barely get him to participate.  It was his first time doing an organized sport so we tried to be positive, but it was pretty frustrating at times.  Overall, it was a good experience for Dawson.

End of the season team pictures.

Proud Mom.

Proud Dad.

While soccer was at times unpleasant for Dawson, he was so excited to get this certificate and medal.  He loves wearing his soccer medal and keeps it proudly on display in his room when its not around his neck.

We Can't Get Enough of Our Hazel

Really and truly, we just love our sweet baby girl.  The following pictures span March, April, and June of 2016.

These two.  Watching cartoons in Mom and Dad's bed.

Hazel is such a happy baby.

Hazel keeps nice and warm inside while Dawson has fun in the snow outside.

 We love her smiles!

At the end of May, Dave's parents came to visit us.  It was great to have Grandma Julie and Grandpa Keith meet Hazel!

Dawson loved this Jumparoo, and it was so cute to watch him go crazy in it.  Hazel has not really loved it at all.  She likes it for a few minutes to explore the toys but is not super interested in the fun jumping part.

We love being parents of two and love that we have a son and a daughter!  Not every day is amazing, but these two keep life fun, interesting, and make it all worth it.

Provo City Center Temple

After the Provo Tabernacle caught on fire and was severely damaged, it was announced in General Conference that it would be turned into the second temple in Provo.  This temple was to be called the Provo City Center Temple and it would be the temple my stake was assigned to!

Because I am in the Young Women's Presidency, I was really involved in the preparation for the temple cultural celebration.  Each stake assigned to the temple was asked to perform a dance at the celebration.  We spent several activity nights practicing the dance and many additional evenings and Saturdays.  I drove the girls a few times to practices in the BYU Mariott Center as the performance grew closer so they could practice in the actual location of the celebration.

Our dance was a lyrical contemporary piece that was honestly a bit weird.  It also involved an enormous ball that really complicated the whole routine and made it almost consistently not work out.  The few times it did work, it looked good.

Dave and I also scored tickets to the actual celebration which was amazing to see in person.  Unfortunately the ball portion of the dance did not turn out correctly during the actual performance, but the youth did the best they could.  The other dances were really great too and highlighted the history of Provo as well as the old tabernacle.

Dave and I also had the opportunity to be ushers one night during the Open House event.  We worked in the area just outside of the main underground entrance.  I stood by the doors and basically smiled and guided people along the path.  Dave operated an elevator to assist people up to the gazebo area.

We were also able to attend the Open House as a family too which was really neat!  The temple has an older architectural style and a lot of effort went into preserving the beauty of the old tabernacle.  It was a really special experience to be able to go to the temple with our children and be reminded of the forever family we have.

Hazel's Baby Blessing

Hazel Sage Gregory was given a name and a blessing in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Springville, Utah on March 6, 2016 by her father David Thomas Gregory.  Her grandfather, Luis Picardo, and uncles, Jason Picardo and Kyle Guinto, were among those in the blessing circle.

Family picture with Hazel on her blessing day.

I was glad to have my parents in town for the occasion.

Proud Mom.

After church I took some pictures of Hazel in her blessing dress.  I love this beautiful dress for my beautiful daughter and I hope that it will be passed on as a family heirloom.

Lovely day with a lovely little lady.
