I took the kids to spend a week at my parent's house right before the 4th of July. This was Hazel's first trip to Colorado so my mom drove out with us. It worked out perfectly since she was in town for Jennifer's baby shower. The kids were pretty good in the car despite the construction delays we faced.
Dawson and Hazel had a lot of fun visiting Grandpa Luis and Grandma Lona!
On one day of our visit, my mom took us to Chuck E. Cheese. This just happens to be one of Dawson's favorite places on Earth!
Dawson had a great time except for getting lost in the Fun House. Luckily, a little girl volunteered to go in and help Dawson find his way out.
We also had a good time at O'Brien Park on Main Street. It is really different than I remember it and was fun to visit. Hazel stayed in the stroller the whole time, but she was happy to be out and about. Dawson had a blast running and playing around.
We also had fun just hanging around the house. My mom attempted to make popcorn balls for the first time. She needed a bucket for the popcorn so she got a cool Avengers bucket which she then gave to Dawson.
This crazy pink hat also provided some silly entertainment.
Dawson had fun with the trampoline too which he calls the "jumpy-boing".
Dave and Jason flew in for the 4th of July weekend. We had a fun cookout one night.
We ended our visit with a 4th of July breakfast at the church.
Jason drove back to Utah with us in between his niece and nephew. I think he loved it.
Since we drove back on the 4th of July, we made it home in time to see some fireworks from our driveway.
Happy Independence Day!
